NWAC Mountain Weather Forecast
NWAC (Northwest Avalanche Center) provides the best winter forcasts for the state of Washington. Updated at approximately 6:00am & 3:30pm daily, they provide all of the information needed to make your own custom predictions for the destination of the day. PLEASE NOTE: NWAC forecasters are on duty from September through June and produce daily mountain weather and backcountry avalanche forecasts from mid-November when the snow starts to fall through mid-April when spring weather arrives. Occasional seasonal warnings may be issued outside of this time. Please check the issue date of the forecast.

Mountain Weather Forecasts

PLEASE NOTE: While this information may be indispensable in planning your ascent, please treat it critically and verify against other sources. Our weather algorithms are thoroughly tested and proven to work well for thousands of mountain ski resorts and surf breaks; however, the database of mountain locations may contain errors at this early stage. Please send your feedback – it will be crucial for ironing out bugs and expanding the forecast coverage.

NWAC Telemetry (List Veiw; Map View)
NWAC (Northwest Avalanche Center) forecasters maintain one of the most comprehensive weather data network of its kind in the United States. The network consists of 25 remote automated weather stations (most consisting of at least two or more sub-stations producing a total of 47 separate data sites) that provide hourly precipitation, snow depth, temperature, wind and relative humidity data to the NWAC forecasters. The National Resources Conservation Service and the National Water and Climate Center operate Telemetry sites across the country. Additional useful links from these organizations such as snow depth, snow density, and basin snow coverage can be found here.
